Tena’s Fine Diamonds Wins Best of Show and People’s Choice Award

 
Winner takes top two spots with one entry
Tena’s Fine Diamonds and Jewelry in Elberton, GA took two special awards in the Georgia Jewelers Association 2011 Jewelry Design Competition with one entry. Held during the group’s yearly Convention, the competition winners were announced at Sunday’s Member’s Luncheon.

Mikheil Kautengzhi won Best of Show and People’s Choice with this design.
 
Past winner Mikheil Kautengzhi of Tena’s in Elberton, Georgia took both the coveted Best of Show award and the People’s Choice award with a 14kt yellow & white gold carnelian, Chatham ruby, synthetic emerald, tsavorite garnet, and yellow diamond ring. His piece will be entered in the 2012 Torch Awards design competition hosted by the Atlanta Jewelry Show next February at the Cobb Galleria in Marietta, GA.

 Held this year during the Alabama and Georgia Jewelers Associations’ joint convention in Eufaula, AL judges for the event and members from both states had many fine pieces to choose from. Alabama hosted its own competition as well as a student competition from Mobile, AL based Bishop State College’s jewelry department.
 
 Now is not too soon for Georgia based jewelers to begin design plans for their 2012 entries. The competition is open to all GJA member stores, their employees and affiliated students.
